During installation, the installer automatically seeds demo data to populate your system with sample records. This helps you explore features and understand how the system works.
What's Included
Users & Roles
- Default Roles - Administrator, Technician, Receptionist roles with appropriate permissions
- Sample Users - Demo staff accounts for testing
Parts & Services
- Parts Catalog - Sample parts with categories and brands
- Service Catalog - Common repair services with categories
- Tax Classes - Default tax configurations
Devices
- Device Types - Common device categories (phones, laptops, tablets)
- Brands & Models - Popular device brands
Settings
- Default Settings - Pre-configured system settings
- Status Options - Order statuses and workflows
Using Demo Data
Demo data helps you:
- Explore features - See how the system works with real data
- Test workflows - Practice creating orders and managing repairs
- Train staff - Learn the system before going live
- Customize - Use as a starting point for your own data
Clearing Demo Data
Before going live, you may want to remove demo data:
- Delete sample customers
- Delete sample parts (or update with your inventory)
- Delete sample services (or update with your offerings)
- Update or delete sample users
Tip: Keep the default roles and permissions - they provide a good starting point for your team structure.
