Assign repair orders to staff members.
Overview
Assign orders to one or more users to track who is responsible for each repair. Multiple users can be assigned to a single order.
Assignment Section
The assignment section is located in the repair order form. It shows:
- List of currently assigned users
- Option to add new assignments
Viewing Assigned Users
Each assigned user shows:
- Name - User's name (clickable link to profile)
- Role - User's role badge
- Email - Contact email
Adding an Assignment
- Open a repair order
- Go to the Assignment section
- Use the Select User dropdown to search for a user
- Click Assign button
- User is added to the assignment list
Note: You can assign multiple users to the same order.
Removing an Assignment
- Find the assigned user in the list
- Click the trash button next to their name
- Confirm the removal
View-Only Mode
If you don't have permission to edit the order, the assignment section displays in view-only mode with a "View Only" indicator.
Requirements
- The repair order must be saved before you can add assignments
Best Practices
- Assign early - Assign technicians when the order is created
- Multiple assignments - Assign multiple users for complex repairs
- Track responsibility - Use assignments to know who is working on what
- Update as needed - Remove and add assignments as work progresses
