Technician Assignments

Assign repair orders to staff members.

Overview

Assign orders to one or more users to track who is responsible for each repair. Multiple users can be assigned to a single order.

Assignment Section

The assignment section is located in the repair order form. It shows:

  • List of currently assigned users
  • Option to add new assignments

Viewing Assigned Users

Each assigned user shows:

  • Name - User's name (clickable link to profile)
  • Role - User's role badge
  • Email - Contact email

Adding an Assignment

  1. Open a repair order
  2. Go to the Assignment section
  3. Use the Select User dropdown to search for a user
  4. Click Assign button
  5. User is added to the assignment list

Note: You can assign multiple users to the same order.

Removing an Assignment

  1. Find the assigned user in the list
  2. Click the trash button next to their name
  3. Confirm the removal

View-Only Mode

If you don't have permission to edit the order, the assignment section displays in view-only mode with a "View Only" indicator.

Requirements

  • The repair order must be saved before you can add assignments

Best Practices

  • Assign early - Assign technicians when the order is created
  • Multiple assignments - Assign multiple users for complex repairs
  • Track responsibility - Use assignments to know who is working on what
  • Update as needed - Remove and add assignments as work progresses
